I’m extremely overwhelmed with emotion knowing others are reading my memoir, and knowing others may benefit is extremely heartwarming. Thinking back to when I was first diagnosed, my first thought was, “I’m going to die.” I started to feel sick and weak. My vision blurred, and my mind turned into a hazy fog. The sound of my pounding heartbeat drowned out the doctor’s voice. I blanked out for a few seconds or so, trying to process the fact that I had prostate cancer. At the time, I certainly didn’t have any plans to talk about it, let alone write a book. And now, here I am, reading wonderful reviews and moved by many personal messages from others. I’m sincerely grateful for all the kind words.
