“The DRE gives a whole new meaning to the term, ‘the doctor is in.’” Gogs shares what a digital rectal exam was like, and what the exam can mean for prostate cancer.
In this article, I share my thoughts on the digital rectal exam and what I learned about the prostate. My tumour was out of reach of the DRE, even though it was almost the size of two golf balls! Therefore, I’m grateful my doctor recommended regular PSA testing even though I had a smooth prostate.
