Guest Speaker at the Island Prostate Centre, Victoria, BC

It was an absolute pleasure and an honour to be a guest speaker at the Island Prostate Centre support group meeting in Victoria, BC.

Gogs Gagnon is a retired computer programmer who has developed games for Apple Computer, utility software for IBM and was the lead programmer and data architect for the BC Government for over 35 years before retiring in 2015.

He was diagnosed with prostate cancer at the age of 57 and opted for a prostatectomy. Currently, he is 39-months NED and has since written a book named “Prostate Cancer Strikes: Navigating the Storm,” and created a YouTube channel with several short videos capturing details of his diagnosis, surgery, and recovery. Gogs has a blog on his website, is active on Twitter, and a member of the Prostate Cancer Foundation of BC support group council.

Recently, Gogs has taken on an advocacy role as a Content Contributor for Health Union, writing articles for the community. In this role, he will be writing a series of articles that share lessons learned from his prostate cancer diagnosis. His first article, “Prostate Cancer Symptoms – or lack thereof,” will be published in a few weeks.
