I know several guys who haven’t seen a doctor in over 20 years. I’ve managed to convince a few to go for an annual checkup, including the PSA test, but most feel they are healthy and no need to see the doctor. Feeling healthy is no excuse to skip an annual checkup. One of the guys I convinced to see a doctor turned out to have high blood pressure and diabetes and another has a slightly elevated PSA that he will now monitor.
My cancer was in the final stage before breaching the prostate, and yet I had no symptoms. If I didn’t bother to get tested, my cancer most likely would have spread before I found out. Please, guys, don’t wait for symptoms before seeing a doctor.
